Sheriff, Rick Stuve convened the meeting, and welcomed our newest member, Bradly from Rochester.
Jody gave the treasury report. The club has $2,537.89.
Spike talked about safety and announced that we all need to attend a safety session in order to participate in the events. Our next meeting will be at the Little Log House Village, Thursday, May 4th, 6:30pm, and we will concentrate on Safety then. We will also have a Safety session on Saturday, May 6th for those members unable to attend on Thursday evening. See Spike for time and details on Saturday.
Rick went over our past events of February. The Waseca event was a great success.
We didn't have enough members attend the Kenyon event to make a good showing. We may need to reconsider that one next year. Although, the Parade coordinators sent a thank you that Jody read to the group. They appreciate all that we have done for the event.
McGregor went well. We handed out alot of flyers for COWS. The members that were there had a great time, and made lots of connections.
Jody has been asked by Mantorville again this year if we can participate in their event. She will send an email asking everyone if they can commit. We didn't have a good showing last year, and we don't want to repeat that again this year. We will turn it down if we can't get at least 10 members to commit to being there. It is Fathers Day, June 18th.
Rick went over our events that are schedule this season. They are:
- June 10-11, Wild West Roundup, Dundas, MN (everyone is invited to play)
- July 15, Rivertown Days, Hastings, MN (Date changed - Dakota Rose Entertainment will be in charge of this one)
- July 16, Root River Antique Power Show, Spring Valley, MN
- July 29-30, Little Log House Antique Power Show, Hastings, MN (Jody has a signed contract from Sylvia Bauer)
- August 5-6, Buffalo Bill Days, Lanesboro, MN
- Sept 30-Oct 1, Old West Extravaganza, Dakota City, Farmington, MN
Derk Hansen spoke at great length about the Wild West Roundup in June 10-11, 2006. They are inviting any and all Old West/Wild West entertainers to come and play. Please let Jody, Bev, or Derk know by May 1st if you are interested in putting together a scenario.
Ken Cooksey and Rick Stuve will be recruiting from the members to put together a couple scenarios on behalf of COWS.
