The Sheriff, Mike Schroeder called the meeting to order.
Treasurer's Report:
- Hud reported that all outstanding bills have been paid and all payments to the club have been received for 2007. The current balance as of the meeting was $3,411.43.
Safety Report:
- Ammunition purchases for 2008 will be assessed and made from these funds.
Old Business:
- The first discussion centered on the Mabel Minnesota event. We agreed to commit to the Saturday performance on September 6, 2008. The willingness to also perform on the following Sunday is yet to be completed. Attending members did recommend a Sunday performance be limited to the morning only (ending at or before 12:00 noon) to allow appropriate travel time home for group members.
- Christmas Party: Response to the newsletter from November concerning attendance at the Christmas party has a current count of 18 members at this time. Members will be responsible for their own meals this year. Cows will be providing entertainment for this year’s party. Mark Samson a new member will do a one hour magic show. Sheila Shelton will be encouraged to provide the musical entertainment (I hope you have heard about this before the newsletter is read). And last but not least, there will be an old west belly dancer. Remember there is still time for members and guests to respond concerning the January Christmas party. This party has the potential to be a lot of fun for Cows members and guests.
- We hope to see you all at the January 19, 2008 Cows Christmas party. It will be at the Mill Street Tavern in Cannon Falls, MN. Look for RSVP post card in your mail. Mary Stuve will be sending them out.
New Business:
- The Waseca event was discussed by members. If this operates as it has in the past we will be responsible for entertaining at five different locations. Andy and Donny are the clubs event organizers. Hopefully more information will be available at the Christmas Party.
- The New Sheriff; Mike Schroeder would like a list and contact name for each event. It still continues that the member organizing the event will speak as the club representative. Anyone with pertinent information email details to Mike. Lori Schroeder reported that she would use this information to send holiday cards to event contact persons that have used our services.
- A new member certificate was discussed: It was considered a nice gesture of welcome to new (officially joined) members. The discussion remains open.
- It appears that the Mall of America now has a professional Old West photographer. This may be a fun way to update pictures for the Cows website.
- Closing Thought: Cows is on the move with new members, and this will help make 2008 an exciting year.
- There will be no regular meeting in January. SEE YOU AT THE PARTY !
Happy Holidays to all our members and families.
