Sheriff Andy Street convened the meeting at 6:45 p.m.
Old Business:
- Treasurer's Report: The club has paid for the website for the year $250, props $80.87, break away bottles $108, hats/shirts $96.91, and is left with a balance of $1,372.48. We have since received $400 from July 7th event, and owes for the CD player & misc.
- Safety Report: Mike was not available to make comments, but Andy talked about the New Richland event going well with no ammo related incidents. There was, however, an issue with heat exhaustion. Remember to drink plenty of water, and rest in a shady place when its hot!
- Sound System: The sound system is complete. Derk purchased a cd player for it and is giving a mic to the club to use with it. It is a little sensitive for the unit, but will work ok. Derk dropped the system at the Pink House so that it can be used during the Little Log House show. We will need a volunteer to run and take over the system.
- New Richland Farm and City Days: Andy talked about the New Richland event and gave the check to the Treasurer. Everything went well and we were very well received. The day was hot and there were no safety incidents except a near heat exhaustion. Andy also said that they will probably want us back again next year.
- Little Log House Antique Power Show: Jody has given the schedule to Sylvia Bauer to publish and has supplied them with a list of COWS members. We will do 4 shows (10:30am - 1pm - 2pm - 3pm) There will also be a potluck on Saturday night at the Cowboy Cabin, and all are welcome to pitch a tent in that area for overnight camping. Please EMAIL ASAP to let me know if you will be attending. We never seem to be short handed on this one, but still need to know who will be there.
- Baseball Caps: Gordy and Ken made some very nice baseball caps and denim shirts, displaying the COWS logo, available for sale at Sheila’s store at the Power Show. After a little mix-up is fixed-up, Jody has left them with Dakota Rose at the Pink House. We will have 14 dozen more made up for Little Log House and Lanesboro.
- Lanesboro: COWS will perform at Lanesboro again, August 4-5. Lanesboro is quite a distance for some folks, but is a beautiful town and they welcome us with open arms. COWS is committed to doing this event and should have a good showing. Maybe carpooling will work for some that are coming from longer distance. There is a great place to camp overnight on Friday and/or Saturday evening. Please EMAIL ASAP to let me know when you will be coming and if you are interested in carpooling. I will let you all know who will be going so you can make contact with others coming from your area.
New Business:
- Deputy: Since Gary Spessard is gone, we need to nominate a new Deputy Sheriff. There were 4 nominees taken and the vote will take place at the meeting at Little Log House. If you are not going to be at the Little Log House and want to vote, please EMAIL Andy with your choice. Ken Cooksey, Brad Carlson, Mike Schroeder, or Sheila Shelton
- New Event Possibility: Hud has talked to the owners of the Bellwood Oaks Country Club (located off Hwy 61 just south of Hastings) about performing at an event they have on Monday, August 6th at noon. There were a few interested people that thought they would be able to come. Contact Hud for details if you are able to join them.
Meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
