When he finally finished stuffing his face, Andy started the meeting at 7:05 pm.
TREASURER REPORT – Hud reported that all of the events are paid and after adding in the money for the hat sales that our balance is $3,241.96
SAFETY REPORT – We (the club) had a small incident in Mable. A car door was accidentally scratched by one of our members so it was turned into our insurance and it is being handled, nothing major by any means. Our insurance is expected to cover the repairs.
We also discussed how we seem to be getting more and more requests to do indoor shows. As this is a different situation as far as safety and ammo goes we are looking into purchasing some ½ load .45 cal shells.
NEW BUSINESS – Nominations for next year’s officers were held and these are the people who were nominated. If your name is on the list and you don’t care to be nominated just let Andy (freezejoe@yahoo.com) know and we will remove your name from the ballot by next month.
- Deputy – Gordy Hies Mike Kinzell, Ken Cooksey, Mary Tulp
- Safety – Steve Lonn, Brad Carlson, Mike Kinzell
- Treasurer – Hud Heidlebaugh, Mary Tulp, Cesairo Lopez
- Organizers – Mary Stuve, Sheila Shelton
We will be voting for these officers at our November meeting (Thursday, Nov 1, 2007) at Kings in Miesville. Please try to make this meeting if possible.
Dues are now due for next year’s membership. We discussed possibly raising the membership fee but decided to table this discussion until later so we could get more input from the membership. So get your dues in now before they change (just kidding) but do send your dues to Hud by the next meeting. $25.00 per family. (Hud Heidlebaugh, 26565 Nicolai Ave., Cannon Falls, MN 55009)
Mable has expressed interest in not only having us back next year, but wants us for the whole weekend. Since we need to discuss a possible raise in our rates for next year we decided to wait on booking any shows for next year till that decision is made.
The COWS hat sales went pretty well this year and we will be selling them at more events next year. We do still have a few hats for sale if anyone is interested. Contact Gordy (gordonh@the-service-agency.com) if you would like one or if you would be interested in getting our log on a denim shirt.
We discussed having our Christmas party at the Mill in Cannon Falls again this year. Rick is waiting to hear back from them on the menu choices and so forth. We should have more information by the next meeting. The Mill worked out pretty well last year for us so we’ll give it another try this year. There is still time if you have any ideas for entertainment this year. Give Rick or Mary a call 507-280-0814, and let them know, but do it soon because Rick and Hud said that they will sing for us if we can’t find anything else. PLEASE CALL RIGHT AWAY!
OLD BUSINESS – We discussed some of the events from the past year and how we could improve them for next year. Mostly we just sat around and patted ourselves on the back, because no one else will (just kidding again). There just wasn’t any old business to discuss.
On a personal note: Andy would like to thank everyone who has helped make this year a good one. We added new shows to our schedule and added some great members to our club. He also added that he had a lot of fun being Sheriff this year and is looking forward to next year already. It is only because we have the best members in the world in this club. Not once this year did he hear “G E T A R O P E” and he is grateful for that. He said, “The pleasure was all mine, thanks.”
We couldn’t find come up with any more Old Business so Andy slammed the gavel for the last time at 8:15pm.
